Here is your new dirty shirt.

Lowe Ad Agency sent samples of laundry detergent to potential customers in Thailand. They wrapped the sample with a new t-shirt and addressed it with washable ink. By the time the samples arrived, the shirts were pretty dirty. Then voila, the solution was right there inside! Clever marketing.

A little of column A….And a little of column B….

Filed under: Noisiness. — Nikki @ 4:59 pm

This clip at first made me…

Happy- I am a fan of the ukelele and it’s happy pluckyness…Then it made me….

Sad- I hate hearing cover versions of my favourite songs as a rule…I hit play, then it made me….

Happy- I like cute, plucky ukeleles (see above). Then I heard the old guy sing the verse. This made me…

Sad - I find it kind of lame when the boomers scratch and cling to the meat and potatoes of my generation. Then I heard the old guy sing the chorus. This made me…

Happy- Seeing the old guy rock it out was awesome….kind of like discovering your Crazy Uncle Jimmy is not actually crazy; he’s just really funny and a little misunderstood. Then I saw the old guy doing some lame-o “interpretive dance” type garbage at the end of the song and this made me feel…

Sad- It really is Crazy Uncle Jimmy clinging to the meat and potatoes and he really is crazy…and the only one who misunderstood is you.  But in the end….this song wasn’t as bad as it could have been….and I didn’t hate it as much as I probably should have.

School pretends students have been killed to teach dangers of drink-driving…

Filed under: Noisiness. — Nikki @ 1:51 pm

A police officer in uniform walked into 20 classrooms at El Camino High School in California and announced that several students had been killed in car wrecks over the weekend.

But the scare tactic backfired when some students, who were not told that it was a stunt for two hours, became hysterical and wept uncontrollably. Their grief turned to fury when they learned they had been duped. Some students made posters declaring: “Death is real. Don’t play with our emotions”, while a number of parents also complained to the education department. El Camino officials defended how they handled the exercise, saying it gave students the opportunity to experience of real grief.

The hoax was intended to tech the students about the dangers of drunk driving…in my opinion there was another lesson learned by those students…that teachers and other authority figures such as police officers are liars.
